Chromaphilia is a group exhibition bringing together three artists who employ a joyful colour palette in their work. This is achieved using materials such as industrial car paint, dyes and spray paint. New work and pieces made to the dimensions of the floor are intended to create a setting that is both domestic and gallery-like. For Chromaphilia, the artists highlight the dual and ambiguous status of their work, as artworks and at times functional design.
Norwood’s chairs, the floor covering by Reid, Jónasson's bag, are familiar things we use daily. Shown together in the gallery, the exhibition raises questions about the hierarchy between art and objects designed for daily use.
