2016 / Kate V Robertson / Semper Solum / Oxford House / Patricia Fleming Projects

8 – 25 Apr 2016

Semper Solum occupies what used to be a courtroom in a former Police Station. Like much of Robertson’s previous work this installation sees the artist continuing to explore her interest in association and suggestion, while examining the processes and materials used to make art. Robertson draws on ideas of opacity and judgement, bridging the gaps between the two into the room. The artist uses familiar objects to highlight the malfunction and miscommunication present in everyday life.

‘Semper Solum’ translates from Latin to both Always Unique/Always Alone.
